All if the devices in the lists below have been extensively testing and certified for use with Myriad Playout (4 or 5). Mnay other soundcards or devices will also work with Myriad but the devices below are the preferred option.
Domestic Analogue Sound Devices
Domestic analogue sound devices offer the cheapest option for the type of multi-channel sound device that is commonly used for radio playout systems such as Myriad Playout.
Domestic devices are usually un-balanced which makes them suitable for unbalanced mixers such as the Webstation
and SRM
but less well suited to balanced mixers such as the S2.
All of the devices below offer multi-channel playback and are certified for use with Myriad 4 Playout and Myriad 5 Playout.
Aureon xFire 8.0 HD
The XFire offers entry level multi-channel sound via a external USB connection.

Professional Analogue Sound Devices
Professional analogue sound devices offer multi-channel sound device that is commonly used for radio playout systems such as Myriad Playout.
These devices are feature balanced audio which makes them suitable for balanced mixers such as the S1, S2
or any of the digital mixers that include balanced analogue inputs (which is all of them!)
Most of the devices below offer multi-channel playback and are certified for use with Myriad 4 Playout and Myriad 5 Playout.
Roland Rubix 22
The Rubix 22 only offers balanced stereo output which means it is better suited to automation or logging applications rather than studio use.

Roland Octa Capture
The Roland Octa Capture offers 4 balanced stereo output making it ideal for studio playout applications such as Myriad Playout.

Virtual Sound Drivers
If you are using a digital mixing console that supports some form of Audio Over IP (AoIP) then you may not need a sound device at all, instead you can use the appropriate Virtual Sound Driver to drive audio directly from your application to the mixing via your network.
There are several different standards and you will need to select the right Virtual Sound Driver for your digital console. In theory you may be able to connect drivers and components using differing standards (as they are all based on AES 67) but in practice we would not recommend this. It is better to select the correct virtual driver for your mixing desk technology.
Please note that you will need a dedicated network card to run any Virtual Sound Drivers so make sure you budget for a second network card in your playout PC.
Dante Virtual Sound Drivers
Unlike Livewire, the Dante standard is used by a wide range on digital consoles and other AoIP enabled equipment meaning that using Dante will not restrict you to a single manufacturer.
Specifically, the Dante drivers can be used with the AEQ Capitol IP
and Forum IP
console ranges as well as other Dante enabled devices.
Dante Virtual Soundcard
The Dante Virtual Soundcard (by Audinate) offers access for up to 64 channels of low latency Dante audio at an amazingly low price. Dante Virtual Soundcard software works with both Windows and Mac's and is compatible with most software applications.
Please note that you need to have some Dante enabled hardware on your network to provide the synchronisation 'clock' needed for Dante - unless you also purchase Dante Via!

Dante Via
Dante Via provides multi-channel audio routing of computer based audio meaning you can 'upgrade' any audio device connected to your computer to be 'Dante Enabled'.
In addition, the Via software also provides a Dante network synchronisation clock meaning you can use Via to build a Dante audio network without any Dante hardware at all.
