Routine Maintenance & Assessment Visits

If your PC equipment is getting a little old, it might be worth investing in an onsite routine maintenance visit to allow our engineers to check over your system, perform some simple maintenance and make sure you are on the latest appropriate version of software. They will also be able to advise you about potential problems in the future and make recommendations with regard to minimising future issues.

In general, the engineer will aim to do the following:
  • Arrive at your site about lunch time (depending on travel distance from HQ).
  • Check over your overall system to ensure your software is configured correctly and consistently.
  • Examine the ‘event log’ for up to three computers and make recommendations based on any information found.
  • Physically check up to three computers for damage and clean the fans/filters on those PC’s.
  • Make sure you are on the latest (or best suited) version of software that you are entitled to.
The engineer will not be able to do any of the following:
  • Upgrade or repair any hardware without prior agreement with us.
  • Perform windows updates or re-install faulty operating systems.
  • Upgrade your software beyond the version you are entitled to.
  • Perform maintenance or repair of audio equipment or IT equipment not supplied by us.
  • Provide any training on products.
Obviously, our engineers will try to be as flexible and helpful as possible.  Any difficulties encountered may affect the amount they are able to cover in a single afternoon.

This service is intended as preventative maintenance but we cannot offer any guarantee that such action will prevent or delay system failures.  All we can do is follow recommended procedures to reduce the risks of running older PC’s in mission critical situations.

For commercial radio the fee is £400 (+VAT) for 1 x engineer a day. Hotel and mileage are not included. Please contact the Broadcast Radio team for terms, conditions and a quote.

Onsite Engineering

Our onsite engineering service offers you access to experienced broadcast radio engineers capable of undertaking a wide radio of tasks. Typical examples might include:
  • Maintenance & repair
  • Installation of equipment
  • Removal of equipment
  • Fault finding
  • Technical documentation
  • Studio moves
In all cases, it is important we discuss the scope of the work prior to the onsite visit to ensure the engineer has the required tools and skill set to undertake the work.

On the day of the work, the engineer should arrive at the agreed time with the tools and equipment needed to undertake the task. There will frequently be some time taken to fully assess the situation and workout the best work plan. Health and safety is also a prime concern and the engineer will raise any safety concerns at this point.

As with all engineering, the time taken to complete tasks or even the plausibility of a task may be affected by unforeseen circumstances. In this situation, our engineers will explain the situation and outline the options to allow you to decide how to proceed.

Please allow up to 1.5 hours of Remote Control Engineering time, to assist in the configuration of a brand new system on new PC hardware.

Please make sure your system is capable of a robust remote control from a third party before ordering this service. We will require Administrator Level access to any PC’s, Servers or firewalls, before we can complete these tasks.

Assessments available in 30 minute segments at £30 (+VAT).  An initial ESTIMATE of the engineer time will be calculated and quoted to you for approval. T&C apply.
